Earlier this month, I had the incredible opportunity to attend Thermofest in Fiji, and it was such a treat to soak up not just the sunshine, but all the amazing culinary inspiration! During our seminar we had a cooking demo hosted by the lead recipe developer at Thermomix, we were introduced to a unique ingredient called Ginger Elixir – a local specialty found only in Fiji.

They even set a challenge for us to recreate the elixir as closely as possible, and the winner will get to go to the recipe development office, upload it to Cookidoo, and participate in the photoshoot for the official recipe! How amazing is that?! To be part of creating recipes that make it to Cookidoo, and to see firsthand the creativity behind the Thermomix kitchen!

The demo also highlighted a couple of exciting new MixShop products designed for the TM7 varoma. There were these little black ramekins with lids – perfect for steaming desserts like lime and ginger crème caramel that was demonstrated at our seminar, and moulds that can poach eggs or, in this case at the demo, create ginger puddings. I can’t wait to experiment with these in my own kitchen!
While I work on recreating the official Ginger Elixir, I wanted to bring a little bit of Fiji into my own home right now. This Fiji Ginger Limeade is the perfect way to do it. It’s light, refreshing, zesty, and just a touch sweet, perfect for spring or any time you need a tropical lift.
